Delta Air Lines has partnered with California-based JetZero to develop a revolutionary blended-wing-body (BWB) aircraft, designed to be up to 50% more fuel-efficient than current jets and capable of carrying over 250 passengers. The innovative design integrates the wings and fuselage into a seamless structure, reducing drag, weight, and emissions while being compatible with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and existing airport infrastructure. Delta will contribute operational expertise and passenger-focused interior design innovations, aligning with its sustainability goals of net-zero emissions by 2050. Supported by U.S. Air Force funding, the first full-scale demonstrator is expected to fly by 2027
