NATO is planning to request its European allies and Canada to boost their weaponry and equipment stockpiles by approximately 30% over the next few years, as stated by a high-ranking alliance official. The alliance is currently in discussions to update military capability targets for its members, which were established prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. These new objectives are expected to be finalized and adopted by early June, coinciding with the gathering of NATO defense ministers in Brussels.
