OpenAI Anchors Firmus’ Malaysia AI Buildout, Lifting Contracted Capacity Above 900 MW

‼️ 🧠 🇦🇺 Australia-based AI infrastructure firm Firmus Technologies has signed a multi-year deal to provide OpenAI with dedicated computing capacity from two Malaysian data centers, making the ChatGPT creator an anchor customer. The agreement pushes Nvidia-backed Firmus’ total contracted capacity above 900 MW, as it expands beyond its operating sites in Australia and Singapore with five additional Asia-Pacific facilities under development.
