Germany’s Mass Protests Turn Violent After Dark

🔔 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 BREAKING: Mass protests across Germany turned violent after dark on Saturday, with clashes in Frankfurt, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin. Police arrested more than 30 people in Frankfurt after rioters smashed shop windows and looted stores. Organized by “Gen Z regelt,” which had rejected violence, the demonstrations drew fewer than the 150,000 people expected across more than 30 cities. Another nationwide protest is planned for Nov. 14.
Unrest also spread to Zurich, where masked protesters erected burning barricades and torched a car, prompting police to deploy water cannons and rubber bullets. In France, more than 300,000 people joined fresh protests that also saw renewed violence.
